Activate overlays by placing mouse cursor over applicable box and
clicking left mouse button. By checking the graphic overlays on and off the user
customizes the weather picture. Layering is based on the sequence in which the user
"checks" a particular box. In order to bring a layer to the top, click the box empty and
then check again; the overlay will appear on top. Satellite images are forced below
the other images but on top of the terrain.
Clicking on the 'Previous' button (previous/current page only) will
activate the previous version of the selected overlays (last 1/2 hour for all except the
radar which is updated only hourly) and change the button to read 'Current'. Clicking
the 'Current' button will activate the current version of the selected overlays and
change the button to read 'Previous'. Repeated clicking on this multi-purpose button
creates a mini-loop.
Click on the 'Reset' button to return the form and overlay image to the
default setting. This is preferable to using the browser 'Refresh' or 'Reload' button
unless updated images are required.
The 'Printable Image' button runs a cgi-bin script that sandwiches all
the selected graphic overlays (with the exception of the color terrain) together,
creates a PNG image, and opens a new window to display that image. Simply click on the
browser 'Print' button to print the image. Right click on the image to 'Save image as'.
Leaving the print window open will cause subsequent print generation to be performed in
the 'minimized' window. To view the image, click on the window icon at the bottom of the
browser. Closing the print window after each use will cause a new window to be created
on subsequent print generation.
