Aircraft Report Plots

These are a set of plots generated by ADDS showing locations of aircraft reports of turbulence, icing and general weather conditions. There is a CONUS view, six regional views plus Alaska. Each plot is updated every 20 minutes at 10, 30 and 50 after the hour. The web page will refresh every 15 minutes. The three types of plots are:

Turbulence Plot

This shows only turbulence reports. Each report is show as an icon (see below) with the flight level the report occurred.

Icing Plot

This shows only icing reports. Each report is show as an icon (see below) with the flight level the report occurred.

Weather Conditions Plot

This shows only weather reports. Each report is show as an composite plot model (see below) with temperature, winds, cloud cover and cloud levels. The reports cloud base and top are plotted.

URL Options

Here is a list of the URL options:

  • region=region - This selects the specific region to display. The regions are:
    • us - CONUS US
    • ne - Northeast
    • se - Southeast
    • nc - Northcentral
    • sc - Southcentral
    • nw - Northwest
    • sw - Southwest
    • ak - Alaska
  • date=yyyymmddhhnn - This selects a specific date and time to display. ADDS creates images every 5 minutes. The default is current.
