Short Term...Any tempo flight restrictions due to SHSN should
end by daybreak across all terminals, altExtended SCA outside
the bays through tonight. Winds will subside overnight, but will
likely take most of the night to get below SCA levels. Also
could see a few gales gusts today over the open waters away from
the coastline. hough upslope could keep MVFR cigs in play at
KHIE through the morning. NW winds will gust to 25-30 kts at
times today, but these will diminish quickly around sunset. VFR
then expected into much of Friday, although may see some MVFR
conds in SHRASN late in the day Friday at NH terminals.
Long Term...Long Term...Low pressure will bring MVFR to IFR ceilings and
widespread precipitation to the region Friday night into Saturday.
IFR visibilities in precipitation are also possible. Some snow may
mix in Friday evening into Friday night, but for the most part
precipitation type is expected to be rain. There may be brief lull
in precip or perhaps more drizzle either late Friday night or early
Saturday before picking up again Saturday morning and afternoon.
Conditions are expected to improve toward Saturday evening although
a few showers will remain possible. However, low ceilings are
expected to last at HIE and LEB into Saturday night. VFR conditions
are expected Sunday with breezy northwest winds gusting to 30-35 kt.
VFR continues into Monday before low pressure brings another chance
of precipitation and possible flight restrictions Monday night into
Tuesday.
