Aviation Forecasts Discussions (AFD) INFO

    12Z TAF discussion:
MVFR/IFR conditions prevail across the central and southern half
of the region early this morning due to low ceilings and fog, with
VFR conditions at GWO/GLH/GTR. Scattered SHRA/TSRA are ongoing
mainly west of I-55 this morning and will continue to increase
from west to east this morning. The heaviest rain this morning is
expected along and south of I-20, where brief visby reductions are
possible. Ceilings will gradually improve through the day at most
sites, though MVFR conditions may stick around through much of the
day over South MS. Coverage of SHRA/TSRA is expected to decrease
this afternoon, but scattered activity will remain possible
through tonight. Some of the storms could be severe with 50 kt
wind gusts, 1 to 2 inch hail, and tornadoes. A return to IFR/MVFR
ceilings are expected later this evening across most of the
region, with visibility reductions possible as well. /DL/
